Russian Events in October at the Barbican

Join Kino Klassika on 26 October 2017 at the Barbican for a landmark screening of the new restoration of Sergei Eisenstein’s masterpiece October (1927) with live accompaniment by the London Symphony Orchestra and leading film in concert conductor Frank Strobel.

The screening takes place on the the centenary of the storming of the Winter Palace and the start of the Russian Revolution, 26 October 2017, and is a highlight of the Barbican’s year long Film in Focus programme.

Already world-famous for Battleship Potemkin (1924), in October Sergei Eisenstein took his radical conception of cinema to a daring new level, combining epic moments from the Petrograd uprising with powerful images of revolutionary spirit.
