The Westminster Russia Forum & Partner Shepherd & Wedderburn LLP Host the UK’s First Bilateral Relations Conference…

Held on Friday 15th September 2017 the Westminster Russia Forum (WRF) and core partners including our hosts the leading Law Firm – Shepherd & Wedderburn LLP hosted the UK’s first ever bilateral relations conference.
Aimed to promote a better understanding between our two countries the conference explored in detail the cultural – social, business – trade and political relationship between Moscow & London. With a diverse range of topics from third party legal funding and sanctions to East – West relations, joint security initiatives, space cooperation and joint artistic ventures the event gathered over 100 conference delegates from a wide range of backgrounds.
Speaking at the conference Nic Cobb the Chair of WRF stated:
“I believe we have achieved our aim of creating a community of like minded individuals, businesses, cultural groups, politicos and individuals interested in furthering relations between our two countries – because governments do not talk this does not mean that we as a community have to suffer. We can and have taken a mature approach to furthering cooperation between our two peoples.”
The conference will now form the basis for an annual conference and expanded programme of events. The Westminster Russia Forum is now the United Kingdom’s premier exponent of neutral and positive relations between the UK and Russia.
The conference was held in partnership with RUSFOR, Matryoshka Radio, Shepherd & Wedderburn – we had an excellent panel of speakers and an agenda is available upon request. Evening entertainment was provided courtesy of Irina Karatcheva!
