The WRF are Sad to Announce the Passing of Nigel Sussman – Committee Member & Tireless Campaigner

On behalf of the Committee of the Westminster Russia Forum it is a sad honour to announce that our own Nigel Sussman has sadly & unexpectedly passed away – I would like to extend our most sincere condolences to his family and friends at this most difficult of times.

Nigel had served the WRF in a variety of roles over the past few years but will be remembered for his political courage, grit and determination to help improve ties between the UK and Russia – in this he was tireless.

An example of his determination to provoke a debate and do good was shown last year when he wrote an open letter to all MP’s and other stakeholders calling for a New Narrative in relations.

Nigel leaves behind a wife, family and countless friends, who like me will miss him.

In honour of Nigel we will next year launch the ‘Sussman Award’ to commemorate those have made exemplary efforts to further relations – Nigel was an avid and passionate Russophile and we will do all we can to further his considerable efforts and passion.
