About the OWWF:
The OWWF is a non-partisan interest group representing members from business, science, associations and politics.
The OWWF OstWestWirtschaftsForum Bayern was founded in 2016 as a result of the merger of the predecessor associations OWWC OstWestWirtschaftsClub Bayern e. V. and DOM Deutsches Ostforum München e. V. (German East Forum Munich).
Since its foundation in 1968, the OWWC OstWestWirtschaftsClub Bayern has played a key role in maintaining contacts, exchanging opinions and establishing business contacts in Europe. Long before the fall of the Iron Curtain, the OWWC was one of the pioneers in establishing relations between West and East in Europe.
The DOM Deutsches Ostforum München was founded in 1991 and since then has maintained economic and social contacts with Bavaria’s eastern neighbours.
Following the merger to form OWWF, we now have numerous contacts with consular and diplomatic missions, political decision-makers, business associations and scientific institutions. Members from Bavaria and the Eastern European countries are active in the OWWF. Its activities cover the whole of Eastern Europe and beyond.
The members of the OWWF are personalities from European, federal, state and local politics, business and science.
At the OWWF’s public events, high-ranking speakers from politics and business will speak on current topics that shape cooperation between East and West in Europe and beyond. Direct contacts to political decision-makers and high-ranking representatives from industry play an important role at OWWF events.
“We build bridges of barriers” – Bringing people together in East and West – we pursue this goal through networks between business and science, NGOs and public institutions, media and politics.
We have already been able to implement successful projects in our key areas such as the Silk Road of the 21st century, the Danube Strategy and Russia.
